O.K. I know we have had snow in May before. My daughter's birthday is May 3rd and there has been a light dusting on her birthday once. Also, I recall one Mother's Day weekend when I wanted to buy plants at a garden centre but didn't because it was snowing.
Today is Sunday, May 15, 2016 and here are some images of my Ontario morning.

My newly scrubbed and power washed porch is no longer visible. |

My poor tulips. |
I don't know what the weather is like in your neck of the woods, but this is seriously depressing here. I hope it melts soon.
Not too bad a day here although it is cloudy and after a temperature in the eighties for the last ten days on holiday it does feel a bit chilly it looks far colder where you are.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by, Weaver. Can't wait to see pictures of your holiday! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteHey Jenn, your porch looks so pretty in the snow! But come onnnn it's almost 'flaming June'!
ReplyDeleteIt's 14C here, sunny with a cool chilly wind brrrr! I've got shorts on tho
I wouldn't mind 14 degrees! I am too much of a suck to wear shorts at that temperature, though. Give me 20 degrees for that. -Jenn
DeleteHas the snow covered a wide enough area to put the fires out, the story has dropped out of the news here, although I know Canada is SO big that the chance of snow everywhere is unlikely!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. We are nowhere near Fort McMurray, Alberta, but they have certainly had their share of bad luck. I am not following the news as closely right now, but I believe the fires are all over with now. Alberta had a very hot spring, and not as much moisture leading up to it, so with the winds it was a perfect combination for their horrible forest fires which spread to the city of Fort McMurray. -Jenn
DeleteOh my goodness! Snow? ugh
ReplyDeleteWe have wind and cold temperatures and the possibility of a freeze tonight. Not unheard of for this time of year. It seems like it has rained forever and you're right, it IS depressing!
Sending warm thoughts your direction.
Hi Barbara, I went over to your blog, and yes, you certainly have had a lot of rain. Here's hoping for some nice warm sunshine to keep your potatoes growing!-Jenn
DeleteIt is sunny but a bit on the cool side here 64F for the time of year. I rather like it as I know it won't be long before it is hot and humid.
ReplyDeleteHope your snow goes away quickly, bit of a shock in May isn't it?
Hi Sandy, I'm not sure where you are writing from. When I click on your name I just get a list of blogs you follow, but I don't get your blog (if you have one). Thanks for stopping by. -Jenn
DeleteSorry - I now live in the Midwest, USA.
DeleteWe had snow on 1st June and cricket was abandoned in the 1970s and everyone with birthdays in April in my family has had snow at one time or another. Hello from me, Rachel!
ReplyDeleteYes, April is completely unpredictable. Usually by May we have a bit more consistency. -Jenn
DeleteOh looking at that snow just makes me cold. It's sad for snow to be on tulips. Here's hoping we all get a nice warm up and I mean soon. We had 45 degrees yesterday and today is about 53...so that's better. But I am still cold. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteSusie, sorry, I am a child of the metric system. When you say 45 degrees and 53, I am guessing that is still pretty cool. Our forecast for tomorrow is a high of 12 degrees and a low of 2! -Jenn
DeleteSame here in eastern Manitoba-except no snow. Had a few flakes yesterday though. Supposed to be 29C by the weekend. That would be something unusual for Victoria Day weekend.
ReplyDeleteYes, we don't usually get a hot, sunny Victoria Day weekend, either. Hope it's different this year for both of us!-Jenn
DeleteWow, that is depressing! We didn't end up getting snow, just some rain and cool weather. Hopefully next weekend is really nice.
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope the long weekend coming up is nice. Thanks for dropping by, Martha! -Jenn
DeleteOh gosh. I am going to stop complaining right now. In Ottawa we've had a very cool weekend, with Hubby hauling out the long underwear for his walk... but no snow. Poor you. Are you in Northern Ontario?
ReplyDeleteHi Susan. We are in the Grey / Bruce county area (3 hours north-west of Toronto). Later today it snowed a bit more, hailed, rained, and then was sunny. -Jenn
DeleteOh my. I guess I can't complain too much. We have had cool'ish rainy weather for a while now, and tonight a chance of frost! But no snow. I hope too, that it soon melts and you can enjoy spring time!
ReplyDeleteHi Alicia, the snow did melt by the end of the afternoon, thank goodness. I'm writing this the next morning and it is still frosty!! I brought my plants in for two nights. -Jenn
DeleteFor more than 2 weeks we've had rain every day, and tonight there is a frost warning. I'm wondering where spring is too, and have a feeling what's going to happen is it's going to be sweltering heat and we'll go right into summer. Right now, I just hope the sun returns -- It's really getting to me.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, thanks for stopping by! Yes, it will probably be 20 degrees (Celsius) by the weekend. -Jenn
DeleteOh boy... now I can't complain about temps in the 40's. Stay warm, Jenn and hope it melts soon.
ReplyDeleteThat seriously blows. We were supposed to get the snow but only a flakes dared to fall.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on Fairs. We still have those - but we call the Agricultural Shows - the biggest one near us is at the top of our lane and is called The Wensleydale Show -always the last Saturday in August - with competitions for cattle, sheep, flowers, vegetables, crafts etc. and also shows in the ring.
