Here are some pictures taken today. I finally got out for a much needed walk around the little village. There are now vertical snow walls sliced out by snowblowers and ploughs. There really isn’t enough space to push the snow anymore and intersections are dangerous because you need to nose your vehicle out pretty far before you can tell if the way is clear for you to pull out or make a turn. Soon front end loaders and dump trucks will come to take away some of this snow and make it easier to navigate. Our temperatures are supposed to be going up to closer to zero or even above in the next week. There’s my little part of the world. Have a good week everyone.
We are heading into March, so stronger sun and warmer temperatures will whittle it down soon enough. Time to get thinking about gardening!
ReplyDeleteI actually have been thinking about gardening! I wish I had a greenhouse!
DeleteYowza! Drive carefully!
ReplyDeleteWill do. Everyone around here understands and approaches corners carefully.
DeleteRunning out of space to put the snow here too! Roll on the "big melt".
ReplyDeleteYes, when it happens it will definitely be a big melt!
DeleteWOW! Those are snow walls. I am thankful that are temps are finally getting back to closer to normal. Let's hope that March brings a much needed break from the snow.
ReplyDeleteYes today felt so much better” warmer”! ( it was about -7 Celsius).
DeleteYou wouldn't want to be driving your car when it got stuck in the narrow road with the steep snowy sides. Be safe!
ReplyDeleteOur snow ploughs work hard at making sure both lanes are clear and keeping snow banks pushed back on main roads. In towns and villages things are more crowded.
DeleteWe have so much snow here in Saskatchewan too. We finally got above zero yesterday, and melting has begun. It’s pure bliss. Hope you get much the same this week.
ReplyDeleteWhen melting starts to happen it’s like you have hope again! I think we will have a lot of snow for a few more weeks though.
DeleteWe didn't have snow like that, mercifully, and it should melt this week. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteGolly, that is some serious snow.
ReplyDeleteThat amount of snow is just incredible to me. You're living in extreme conditions. Daily life must be so difficult. Grocery shopping? Even online someone has to deliver. Rubbish collection. Looking after those chooks every day.
ReplyDeleteRoll on spring!
Wow. You got a ton of snow. We have had a long winter here. We will warm up and it should all melt away thankfully.
ReplyDeleteThat is an insane amount of snow. Here's hoping the slow melt starts soon.
ReplyDeleteDear me. I am in sunny sky Palm Springs high about 27C this all looks surreal
ReplyDeleteWe used to get snow like that in the 70's, but not for the past 30 years. Sometimes I wish we got a bit more, though our youngest might not agree with that.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I used to love it when we had radio antennas on our car that stuck up. People would put little red ping pong-type balls on the top of them so they would stick up above the drifts. Can't do that now. That's a peck of snow, I hope the melt comes quickly. We're warming up here this week and I hope it goes north!
ReplyDeleteIt looks just like that where I live. It’s minus 19 outside right now. Spring will come!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of snow. Good thing trucks come and take it away from the intersections. Hope it melts fast!
