"Try New Blogger"

O.K., I'll bite. This is my first attempt at trying the "New Blogger". It can't be any worse than learning how to teach online. I'm going to test adding a picture now.

O.K., there I am in Bitmoji form (I put that out for my students - the likeness is "uncanny" - ha ha, could use an extra chin and some dark circles but those aren't options).

Do you have a Bitmoji? Of course, I never knew what one was until my daughter showed me. Now it's kind of fun. Want to see me in my frizzy summer hair?

O.K., I think I can live with the new blogger (like I had a choice?). I'm on my "lunch break" from my classroom which is actually a chair in my living room! Better get back at it. Thanks for all your nice comments about my flowers.

  1. My gr-daughters helped me set up my own avatar, and by golly, I look darn good. When we are dragged into the new google, I will try it. BUT we can return to the "legacy" version, if that is true.

Keep BBQing. We all need some joy.

  2. For the little that I have explored it, it's not too bad, just different. I actually am making burgers tonight (and potato salad!).

  3. I haven't tried it. I hear it's a bear about images and if loading more than one, getting them in the order you want. Until it's forced on me, I'll stick with the tried and true. Does anyone have anything positive to say about it?

My bitmoji is okay, but I like using MomentCam, that takes an actual photo of you and alters it as you see fit. Then drops it into scenes or with different outfits/accessories. That's what I'm using here as my avatar. :)

    1. I've never heard of MomentCam. I take a terrible selfie.

  4. I am using it and it seems ok. In fact, having seen a few bloggers stressed about it, I am wondering if I am missing something. Agree with you. we can live with it, no problem.

    1. Hi Rachel, I'm responding to these comments a day later, and I'm still not having any problems with the new blogger. However, I haven't tried changing anything like the format or the style of my blog, so maybe that's where it's tricky.

    2. Why would anybody want to change the format or style of their blog if they are already happy with it? It is not a requirement of the "new Blogger" upgrade to change anything in appearance.

  5. Like others, I haven't tried it yet. (Have I ever mentioned I am adverse to change?) The picture at the grill (I think it's a perfect likeness of you) has made me hungry. Just in from the garden for a water break and realize I need a snack. Better get back outside before I stuff something in my mouth that I shouldn't!

    1. You've probably earned the snack!! How's the gardening going?

  6. Well, your post is reassuring. I've heard of many people having issues with New Blogger. I'm not converting over to the new template until Blogger FORCES me to use it at the end of June. Yes, they'll have to drag me, a Luddite, kicking and screaming into the future.

    1. I don't think you'll have a lot of kicking or screaming. The only odd thing is when you go to look at the blogs you normally read from your blog list. Each time you click on one, it tells you it's redirecting you to that blog. I see it as a completely unnecessary step.

  7. Great idea, I'll have to do a post with my Bitmoji sometime soon too. I just returned to Blogging so I don't even know about a New Blogger to try!

    1. Oh hi! I will have to check out your blog. Thanks for visiting here!

  8. Tried it and don't like it. It might make it easier for people with fat fingers using little mobile screens but I use a laptop and for that the old blogger is best, so have reverted back and am staying there until forced off.

    1. I do all my blogging on a laptop or our old dinosaur computer, never on my phone. I'm terrible just texting people and end up hitting the wrong "keys" all the time.

  9. Your avatar doesn't really flatter you, Jenn. Please revert to your original image!

    1. It's not my avatar. I still have the photo (but it could use an update). This is just a fun image / cartoon that you can send in a text to people and there are tons of choices of what you can have your Bitmoji saying or doing or looking like.

  10. Looks like a nice picnic, too. Great tomatoes! New Blogger ain't bad.

  11. A young friend had an app on his phone which aged you in a selfie. It made his friends old and wrinkled, but when he tried it on me it made no difference at all.

    1. I've seen that app. It's funny, and disturbing at the same time!

  12. I've had to move to the new blogger because you can no longer add photo's to the old one. It's ok, it's a matter of hovering the mouse over the buttons to see what they do. My format for photo's is always the same. Load them in the order I want them to appear, resize to large, and place them in line in the centre of the page. I have a desktop computer with a big keyboard.

    1. We have a desk top computer with a big keyboard as well. That sounds like what I do, too, but sometimes I put them extra-large, especially for garden ones.

  13. That was such a good chuckle for the morning ... thanks. So far from my reading up on the "new & improved" Blogger, it's not going to be so different from the features I use already ... the website that I found is so far very helpful.

    1. So far, it really hasn't been too bad for me. But as I've said, I haven't done a ton with it yet.

  14. I'm not crazy for the new blogger but we don't really have a choice, do we? I never heard of the bitnmoji so I'll have to look them up. Enjoy your day, hugs Edna B.

  15. I haven't tried it yet. I'm a little worried about the images -- that's where I hear the most complaints. Meanwhile, I'm trying to ramp up as many posts as I can before it goes live. Of course, I wonder if they'll work then?

  16. Thank you dropping by the other day; I will drop by in turn - especially when the grill is on.

  17. Gosh you are all over it. I haven't even figured out how to do the fake background yet. I guess I don't need to as I can get my hummingbird feeder in our zoom meetings and everyone gets to see my little birds.

  18. I have heard so many complaints about the new blogger, you are the first to embrace it.
