When I got up this morning and checked my phone, this was my screen saver:
This is my kitchen.
This is not my cat.
This is who I have already referred to in my blog as, "orange cat".
I'm guessing son witnessed this when he was up much later than the rest of us and put it on my phone knowing how much it would 'amuse' me.
Orange cat seems to be making use of the cat door again. Thank goodness we don't buy expensive organic cat food!
What a handsome orange cat, but please not on the counter. Not only has your son discovered your house guest, but has caught a VERY rare moment - a cat looking guilty. ... Mary-Lou =^..^=
ReplyDeleteCheeky monkey, making himself right at home like that!
ReplyDeleteOrange cat likes to vacation at your house, obviously.
ReplyDeleteHe's settling in for the long stay! Better call him 'orange house cat' from now on lol
ReplyDeleteI believe he knows on which side his bread is buttered. A stinker, for sure - but cute!
ReplyDeleteI think our pets would freak out if a stranger cat stopped by!!
ReplyDeleteMy friend in Cobden has a pretty long haired calico sneaking into her house! One of her cats doesn't mind but the other goes into a full blow out if he sees it!
ReplyDeleteHi all! Orange cat is no stranger to our cat door, but he hasn't been around for quite a while, so this was a "bit" of a surprise. Our cats are not thrilled when they see him, even just on the property, and give ominous low growly sounds. Orange cat is a "bad cat!!"
ReplyDeleteOrange cat is awfully cute! Does he have "people" or a stray. You might have a new cat!
ReplyDeleteYou've been adopted.
ReplyDeleteSeems like we're all rooting for Orange Cat to become a new member of your family! Everyone wants a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteAwwww he seems like he wants to be part of your family!!!!
ReplyDeleteKris
OMG how funny!!!! I think I would get a bit of a scare if I walked into my kitchen half asleep and saw a strange kitty on the counter!!
ReplyDeleteThat is really great you are comfortable with a visiting cat. You are a good person.
ReplyDeletethe Ol'Buzzard
At least it wasn't a raccoon!
ReplyDeleteGross, orange cat looks as if he is on your counter. I do not know if I could allow that ever. LOL You need a sensor that only open the door for your cat. LOL. Could we come up with something like that and sell it on Shark Tank. :):) Oh My Gosh I just saw where Chris said at least it wasn't a raccoon....yikes. I would never be the same . Bless your easy going heart Jenn. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteI agree with some of your other commenters. If I walked into my kitchen and saw a strange animal on my counter, I would freak out a bit. So does orange cat come in strictly for food? Or does he really, really want to become part of your special household?
ReplyDeleteHmm. I hope he isn't a bully.
ReplyDeleteHas he marked your house? That was a problem we had with stray cats through the cat door.
ReplyDeleteJust to clarify, I wasn't the one who took the picture and saw the cat. Son was up later than us - I was tucked up in bed. He saw the cat in the house and tried to catch it. It jumped up on the counter and then on the windowsill where some nice things were sitting. He didn't want it to break anything, so he let it calm down for a bit (they literally both sat down and just looked at each other for a while). Eventually, after son propped open the kitchen door, orange cat jumped down and left the building.
ReplyDeleteI'm not keen on cats on the counter either, but this wasn't an invitational situation. Orange cat is "semi wild". He's ok being around humans, but has no intention of being caught by one. We don't know if he was ever someone's pet, or if he lives in the old mill around the corner where he would see people from time to time. We have (i.e. I have) no intention of adopting him. I think he takes his opportunities from a few places in the neighbourhood. Two cats are plenty for us :)
