Quick Soggy Saturday Post

It's early. It's raining. There are nine teaching days left, but again, who's counting? I took these pictures when I went out to let out the chickens.

Can you make out the fuzzy (ha ha) image? It's a wee rabbit! We have many. That is why husband built me boxes with chicken wire to go over my seedlings in my garden. I likely don't have to worry about that this year, as my seeds are either rotting in the ground before germinating, or freezing to death at night. Sorry, just let the weather get to me.

Father's Day on Sunday which calls for steak and fried mushrooms and blue cheese and Greek salad and good bread.
It is now time for coffee. Happy Saturday, all.

  1. Hurrah, school is almost over. I am enjoying your blog so I followed you. Hope you will come over and visit mine. I've blogged for years but started a new one. That poor Iris looks rather wilted but I bet it was glad for a drink of water.

  3. Seeds rotting in the ground or freezing to death. Yup, can relate to this. When you can't even get your lettuce to germinate, you know your garden's in trouble. Sigh.

    1. I honestly don't know if anything is germinating yet because I was so late putting it in, but I'll be looking for lettuce in a few days.

  5. Jenn, It's raining here this morning also. I think it's going to rain most of the weekend. I am praying no too much rain..we have had enough. The farmers are suffering here....not getting their fields planted. Hope you can get some veggies growing soon. Coffee sounds so good. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  8. It's stopped raining for a while today in Lincolnshire but it still doesn't feel like summer. My peonies have turned to mush.

    1. My peonies haven't opened yet! Normally they would be in full flower by now.

  10. The blasted chipmunks have been digging up my bean seeds. I've started them again out of their range.

  11. Rabbit pie is a good way of keeping the rabbits down (only joking)

  12. Yes we too in UK have had rain. For us in the East it was needed as our gardens were very dry, but then we'd had enough! Sunshine today and it was wonderful. As a retired teacher I liked school hols too, enjoy your last 9 days, I loved my teaching life.

    1. Thank you, Chris. (Different expressions - "school hols" vs. "summer holidays").

  13. That wee bunny is a cutie. I wonder what the chickens make of random bunnies hopping through the yard?

The Father's Day grub sounds grand. Enjoy!

    1. I don't think they even notice. Our cats walk past their run (enclosure) and they don't even raise a ruckus.

  14. Hi there, just surfed on in and wanted to say how much I have enjoyed your blog. We're going to be having several days of rain and thunderstorms down here in Virginia. Not sure what we are going to be having for Father's Day Dinner yet, but yours sounds delicious!

    1. Agreed. I was just thinking, there is very little risk of sunburn these days.
