Remember when I introduced you to our new kitten, Molly?
Let me reintroduce you.
This is now Murphy, formerly known as Molly.
Today I loaded up the kitten in the carrier cage and took it to the vet for its first round of shots. A vet tech came out to my vehicle, handed me a clipboard with a paper to fill out, and took the carrier cage inside. I was to wait until someone brought the kitten back out to me, then I could go to a side window where I would pay and set up an appointment for the next round of shots.
The vet tech brought out the cage and said there was a little surprise. I thought maybe there was something wrong, fleas, perhaps, but no, she said we have a little boy kitten! She laughed and said it's quite common and it's hard to tell when they are very little.
So, I brought the kitten back home and let the family know. They all laughed and we had to then decide what to call Molly. We settled on Murphy, which I think suits him.
That is too funny. Well now you know why whenever you looked at her for too long you could see the demon that was hiding inside. It wasn't a demon, it was Molly trying to tell you all "I'm not a Molly, I'm a Murphy." Ha Ha Ha!!!
ReplyDeleteVery good!!
DeleteThat made me smile!
ReplyDeleteLong live Murphy. I'm sure he was not in doubt lol
ReplyDeleteMy youngest has a cat they rescued as a kitten...he has stayed Lucy, now short for Lucifer!
ReplyDeleteI'm not the only one, I see.
DeleteOh dear - with three in our carpark area, one of which is calico (so fairly certain to be female), we assumed the other two which looked the same were also female. Perhaps we have better go and have a closer look.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Murphy. I chuckled for a few reasons, this is so 2021!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it?
DeleteStill a cutie!
ReplyDeleteOur first dog when we got married was Augusta . . . which, of course, got shortened to Gus. We knew from the start that she was female but most of her life many others assumed she was a male. She was always a little ditzy so maybe we caused her confusion. Good thing you changed Molly to Murphy as soon as you did!
ReplyDeleteLol! Been there, done that! Lucy became Lucky!
ReplyDeleteThat’s funny. But still a wee rascal I bet
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! Hello Murphy, nice to meet you. :)
ReplyDeleteThat explains his naughty and curious character!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, Murphy had you fooled!
ReplyDeleteIt is really hard to tell when kittens are small. I think that is why we always (well mostly) gave our cats a name suitable for a boy or girl.
ReplyDeleteHello Murphy.
God bless.
I once went with my friend Ann to pick out four new barn kittens to bring home for her barn. I checked every one and pronounced them boys, as she wanted. Some time later she called and told me she was in big trouble with the vet, who set up to do four boy fixin's, one after another, snip, snip, snip, snip. But, the technician brought him four girls. Ann still teases me, these years later.
ReplyDeleteArrive with a girl and leave with a boy. Very funny. Same kitty, just as cute.
ReplyDeleteMurphy is as cute a name as Molly!!
ReplyDeleteI can relate -- Gypsy (aka Gypsy Rose) turned out to be a boy, too. I still kept Gypsy Rose but we knew the truth!
ReplyDeleteSo funny. Still so cute though.
ReplyDeleteMurphy is so cute and adorable!!! Best Coffee Beans
ReplyDeleteAww, so cute! Kittens can surprise us when they're really young.
ReplyDeleteDarling Kitten. I like Murphy. My sister got an orange long haired kitten, they named Norma. After a visit to the vet it was....oh, so it's 'Norm~huh' ?
