Lockdown / Retirement Addition to the Family

Along with asking, "Should I get bangs?", I also revealed, "I've kind of been thinking about getting a kitten.". This is as a result of Ontario's lockdown, and the fact that I am not busy every day from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Also, the weather has been cruddy and I haven't been gardening. So... a sweet family (who we knew) had posted some pictures of two little kittens that their mama cat had, and daughter and son showed them to me. We went to see the kittens (all masked up, and within our local area) and decided which one we wanted, but let them stay an extra two weeks to hang out with their mama and learn a few more things.

Last night, we picked her up. Introducing Molly. Full name is Molly McShoes - long story.

Scooter has yet to meet her. We are trying to do things properly, introducing her smell first by rubbing her with a towel and letting his sniff that. She is quite adorable and has a good purr. Let's see how this decision all pans out, who knows, I might cut my own bangs as well!

  2. Aw...she's adorable! I'm thinking the white socks and size of her feet have something to do with her name. Have fun with the introduction.

    1. Yes, so before we had children, we had a cat named Boots (four white feet). Our son calls Scooter-the-cat-with-no-tail, Pants because from behind, it looks like he's wearing puffy white pants. So, he thought this one should be in keeping with the "attire" thing, and thought she should be called Shoes. We couldn't handle that being her actual name, so a nickname was created.

  3. What a sweet kittie! I have a baby named Molly too although she's not tiny and she's not a kitten. She's a yellow lab. I sometimes call her Molly pop (as in lollipop). Have fun with your Molly!

    1. Fun. Yes. I think I went temporarily insane, but now I'm stuck with my decision. Everything is a toy. She attacked her shadow this morning.

  7. Congrats on the new arrival. She should keep you occupied until it’s nice enough for the garden. It’s been crappy here too.

  9. I hope Scooter makes her welcome. I rub the new cat with a cloth that I have first rubbed on the old cat.

  10. OH MY - Molly is SO sweet. Congratulations on the addition to the family. I have been toying with the idea of bangs, but it's such a commitment (col). You go first with the bangs ...

  14. Even though I'm not a cat person (yep, another one), I have to admit that I think kittens are about the cutest little things alive. Wishing you many years of love and companionship with Molly.

I have friends by the last name of Hansen and their cat's name is Daisy May Hansen which I think is adorable. (She only gets called by her full name when she's been naughty.)

  19. How cute she is. Enjoy her littleness, in no time at all she'll be full grown. As for the bangs, I say "go for it!" What do you have to lose?

  20. We are definitely 'cat people'... although all critters seems to fall under our care. But kittens are the best! They are so fun to watch and will definitely make you smile! Enjoy Molly!

  23. Oh she is adorable!! and I LOVE her name!.. When we were on lockdown here in the states I cut my bangs all the time, sometimes I still do. It just kinna sticks in my craw to pay someone $15.00 to cut my bangs when I can do it..LOL

  24. Molly is gorgeous! What a sweet yet intelligent little face. Yes, cut some bangs. If it goes well, you can show them off. If it goes badly, you can bellyache for the next six months! Win-win.
