That's nice that your husband can do all the work, although it makes it take longer. The satisfaction when it's finished will be great! If funds were of no issue, there are a host of things I would change about our 100+ year old farmhouse! We've gradually stripped wallpaper and done some painting, but nothing structural. We have a bathroom upstairs that has only a tub (where the faucets are now frozen shut by lime deposits because we haven't used it since the kids were little) We have just a stall shower in our downstairs "mud room"... a rather inconvenient space, especially when guests are visiting, but it seems like we've had it this way forever, that it might never change. Closets though...I want (NEED!) closets! I too store my extra sheets in a spare room dresser, and our towels are stacked on top on the dryer! So...HEY, thanks for mentioning me in he post below! So you too are trying to cut out certain carbs? I did it for 6 months and felt GREAT! No bread, no sugar- I fell off the wagon when we dined at a friends house and she made this STUPENDOUS keylime pie>>> YIKES!Now, I'm trying to get back to my reality again. It's amazing how one little mistake can spell disaster! So, you live in an old house too?! Ours is over 100 yrs. as well. My husband re-did a bathroom a few years back and it is the most DIVINE room in the house, really. But I really want a bathroom DOWNSTAIRS, so there is a winter project. Cheers! I often say the only time your house is all done is right before you sell it! That's great that you do all the painting. And I totall...That bathroom is going to be amazing! And I totally get the excitement about the linen closet. That would make me happy, too :)

The bread you made looks so delicious. I've often thought about getting a bread maker but have resisted. The last thing on earth I need around here is too much bread. It'll all go straight to my thighs :)

We did some renovations in our home this year but nothing major; just whatever was necessary to do before we put our house up for sale. And we did all the work ourselves. My husband is very handy and can tackle just about anything. I am, too, but nowhere near where he is, although I'm willing to learn and don't mind getting my hands dirty. My super power around here is painting. I do all the painting in the home. And not only do I paint walls, I also paint furniture and cabinetry. And actually enjoy it.

We'll be moving to another house as soon as we sell ours, so I'm not sure what's up ahead. Perhaps a lot of renovations are in our future!Marthahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09262406079948479112noreply@blogger.com
